Friday Live – 15th May

Here’s the card that Phill made during his Friday Live on 15th May.

Its made using the A6 Medley Stamps, Flower Dies, Compendium of Sentiments and A4 Essentials Premium Paper Packs. The card in the photo uses the Bluebell and Sage Papers and Coffee Bean Cardstock.

THE FULL CARD

Stage 1 – Cut out all the layers and die cuts needed as below:

  • Card Blank – 20 x 20cm
  • Layer 1 – Coffee Bean Card – 19x19cm
  • Layer 2 – Paper Layer – 18.5×18.5cm (Scuffed Edges)
  • Layer 3 – Paper Strip – 18cm x 6cm (Torn)
  • Oval Frame – Coffee Bean Card
  • Oval Shape – Pure White Card
  • Elegance and Enchanting Flower Dies – cut using the papers
  • Lush Leaves Die
  • Essential Tags Die – x2 (paper and card)

Stage 2 – Ink the edges of the Paper Layer using the Acorn Versafine Clair Ink Pad using a ‘patting action’. This helps it to be blend more subtly onto the paper and gives it a shabby finish. Then use the Sakura Real White Gel pens to draw a stitched border pattern around the layer. Using the Four in One Flower Border Stencil gently ink some flowers onto the paper layer. Use the Woodware Edge Crimper to shred the edges of the paper and shabby up the edges. Phill also went round the edge and tore the paper a little. Adhere to Card stock layer.

Stage 3 – Tear the edges of the Paper Strip. If you stay close you will get a larger white border. Use the Life Quotes Extras Textures to add a pattern onto the paper strip. Phill did second generation stamping.

Stage 4 – Assemble the layers onto the card blank, using foam tape where you wish. The Coffee Bean Frame is underneath the paper strip, so only the top and bottom half is visible with the white stitching border.

Stage 5 – Stamp up the A6 Medley Stamp onto the plain oval with the Versafine Clair.

TOP TIP – when a stamp is larger than the die cut shape, use a sheet of paper and a tiny, tiny blob of glue to keep it in place. (see video). Stamp the Medley Image again onto scrap paper as you will need some extras to cut out and decoupage.

Stage 6 – Use the Watercolour Brush Blending Pens to colour in the main oval image and the extras you wish to decoupage. Adhere the oval image to the card blank. Stamp the sentiment onto the small tag.

Stage 7 – Shape and assemble the flowers onto the card blank. Add the Lush Leaves as you go. Add pearls to the centre of the flowers and add glitter where you wish.

d86332a4-adb6-436a-9c47-82b7052c1788

Stage 1 – Cut out all the layers needed as below:

  • Card Blank is 23cm x 19cm
  • Layer 1 – 21cm x 17cm
  • Layer 2 – Double Debossed Corner Rectangle – Background
  • Layer 3 – Double Debossed Corner Rectangle – A6 Life Quote Stamp
  • Leafy Frond
  • Lush Leaves

Stage 2 –  Wipe the smallest rounded corner rectangle layer with the anti-static dust bag.  Stamp the ‘Special Day Life Quote’  with the Perfect Medium and cover with Cracked Pepper Premium Embossing Powder. Colour in elements of the stamp with the watercolour brush blending pens.

TIP – Scribble the pen onto a blending mat and pick up with a water brush to create a faded finish.

Stage 3 – Stamp the extra elements onto the labels white layer. Speed the process up by adding a few to the stamping block and only stamp the edges!

Stage 4 – Stamp the flowers onto white card and use the dies to cut out

TIP – When lining the dies up, you should be able to see just a small bit of the black outline.

Stage 5 – Colour the flowers with the Watercolour Blending Brush Pens.

TIP – I coloured in a little scribble near the centre then used the waterbrush supplied in the set to drag the colour out.

Stage 6 – Assemble the layers and arrange the flowers and leaves.  Add the Spearmint Waves Ombre Pearls.
