Here is our latest blog post

The original card was made by Suzanne (Design Team Member). It uses the A4 Premium Paper Packs, MDF Sentiments and Cosmic Holographic Glitters.  In our workshops we also used the new Flower Dies on our cards 🙂

There is a lot of cutting for this card as we have used two different coloured layers of paper each section, but you could certainly make it easier by just having one layer of paper each section! (Follow the cutting for Layer 1 only if you want to make it easier)

Stage 1 – Cut out all the layers needed as below:

  • Base Card – x2 pieces of white card – 28.5cm x 9.5 (Score each piece at 9.5cm and 19cm). Glue the middle sections together to make the box and let dry.
  • Lid – 16cm x 16cm white card (Score each side at 3cm all way round and snip at corners to glue sides together later – after you have stuck the layers on!)
  • Outer Box Sections
    • Sides Layer 1 – 9cm x 9cm (x4)
    • Sides Layer 2 – 8.5cm x 8.5cm (x4)
  • Lid Sections
    • Top Layer 1 – 9.5cm x 9.5cm (x1)
    • Top Layer 2 – 9cm x 9cm (x1)
    • Side Panels 1 – 9.5cm x 2.5 (x4)
    • Side Panels 2 – 9cm x 2cm (x4)
  • Inner Box Sections
    • Sides Layer 1 and Base Layer 1 -9cm x 9cm (x5)
    • Sides Layer 2 – 8.5cm x 8.5cm (x4)
    • Base Layer 2 – 8.5cm x 8.5cm (x1) use different paper than sides to contrast
  • Circle Dies – we have left ours white and stamped them
  • Flower Dies

Stage 2 – Glue all the layers to the box sections.

After you have attached the layers on the lids, fold the lid and glue together.

Stage 3 – Choose whether you want to Glitter your MDF Sentiment or Use Embossing Powder – both look fab!  The Holographic Glitter covers the MDF more fully than the Glitter Alchemy.  If you choose to Emboss, make sure you Double Emboss the words to fill the colour.

We have used our Brush Glue Applicator to apply the glitters.  You don’t need a lot of glue as it’s very strong!

The MDF Sentiments all come with extra shapes that you can embellish and add to your box card!

Stage 4 – Choose which Stamps to use on the plain white circles and use coordinating ink to match the papers.

Stage 5 – Ink and shape the flowers

Stage 6 – We have used Pinflair Glue to hold our MDF Sentiment in place.  This takes time to dry, so ideally leave this for at least 3 hours before adding the flowers around the base so it is set.  The flowers will disguise the Silicone glue, or you could sprinkle it with glitter!

Each MDF Sentiment will have at least anchor points at the base when a good blog of Pinflair can be added.
